Although many of us didn’t believe there was much to the Álvaro Morata to Arsenal rumours, the situation appears to have hotted up over the last two days.

The Juventus striker, who we’re willing to pay more than Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez if reports are to be believed, was originally thought to be going back to Real Madrid who have a £25m buy-back clause. However, although no agreement has been met one way or another, his agent, Juanma Lopez, has confirmed that talks are ongoing and on Monday, Cadena Ser claimed that the 23-year-old’s representatives were at the Bernabeu in hope of finding out what the club intend to do with his client.

Apparently, the La Liga team are planning on buying him back for selling him for double the price but the player, understandably, doesn’t want this and is reportedly pushing for a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal being the front-runners.

The same outlet also said that Arsene Wenger is willing to break the his transfer record of £42.5m to bring Morato to north London and that we’re better placed for the Spaniard. Meanwhile, Manolete is saying that Arsenal is the future for the player.

“#Morata continues to mark the differences. Their future is going to be the #Arsenal and will be our reference in attack for #DelBosque.”

Everything seems very up in the air at the moment and while I’m still not convinced the player is coming to Arsenal, it’s not looking as laughable as it was earlier in the week.
