Theo Walcott has reportedly told friends that he wants to stay at Arsenal and expects that he will.

The forward has appeared 41 times for the Gunners this season, excluding the Community Shield, which is a little deceiving if you look at how much time he’s actually spent on the pitch. Getting a start has been pretty much impossible for the 27-year-old and understandably so.

Although the England international has always blown hot and cold, this season has been luke warm followed by freezing. As a forward, only scoring five Premier League goals is not even close to being good enough and, therefore, Arsene Wenger would be forgiven for looking for fire power from elsewhere.

With the likes of West Ham reportedly willing to offer £20m, many wouldn’t bet against the pacey forward leaving in the summer. However, the boss – and Theo – have other plans, with the latter allegedly telling his mates that he doesn’t think he’ll be leaving. Unfortunately, for many who want Theo to be shown the door, with Danny Welbeck’s latest injury set to keep him out for nine more months, it’s now looking likely that he’ll be staying.
