According to the Telegraph, Jack Wilshere is reportedly set to sign a contract extension with Arsenal.

The midfielder, who has only made three appearances for the Gunners this season, with only one being a start, only has two years left on his existing contract. His call-up to the Euros, however, has proven that, despite his numerous injury woes, the 24-year-old is still hot property, with clubs like Manchester City reportedly knocking on our door.

The England international has been at Arsenal his entire career and, therefore, the fans see him as another Tony Adams. Although he hasn’t fulfilled his potential due to the aforementioned injuries, he represents something that not many clubs have any more and I think the board recognises that.

Despite not being 100% fit yet, the midfielder looked sharp in training for England this week. It’ll be interesting – and nail-biting – to watch him play for his national team. Hopefully, he comes out of the tournament not only successful but unscathed.
