Young Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson was on the scoresheet as England u17s won 3-1 against Denmark u17s on Thursday, setting up a quarter-final tie with Spain.

After losing to Sweden in the first game of the competition, England have responded well to win twice and Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson has netted in both matches.

After winning and scoring a penalty in the 2-0 defeat of France on Monday, Nelson started again and opened the scoring against the Danes on Thursday.

It’s a third goal in as many games at the tournament for the teenager.

The win was sealed thanks to goals from Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Sheffield Wednesday’s George Hirst, sending England through the group stage as runners-up and into the last eight.

A big test against Spain, whose squad is made predominantly of Barcelona youth players, is next but Nelson will be hoping to continue his excellent form and help England drive into the semi-finals with a third consecutive win.
