Reiss Nelson has been highlighted by UEFA as one of 16 players to watch at the UEFA European U17 Championships.

The winger, who can also play as a number 10, is one of only a couple of players who have been picked out by Arsene Wenger to follow in the footsteps of Alex Iwobi and it’s not hard to see why.

Quick, skilful and with great ball control, the 16-year-old also has an eye for goal, finding the target for England at u17 level with eight goals in seven games.

About Nelson, who will play for England at the tournament, UEFA said “A quick-footed winger who can also fill the No10 role, the Arsenal youngster hit a goal a game during qualification – six from six.”

Not bad, eh?

His return for Arsenal this season hasn’t been quite as prolific with just one goal and two assists in nine u21 Premier League games, but he’s 16. In an u21 league. That often features senior players.

Most definitely one to keep an eye on, and over the course of the tournament, we will be bringing you regular reports of how he gets on.

England play Sweden on Friday at 5pm.
