Obviously no one told Arsenal that Spurs lost earlier in the afternoon and a win could bring us level on points.

Our 2-2 draw against City was the result of another lacklustre, frustrating and, ultimately, disappointing performance from our team.

Giroud chose a good game to come back into form, bagging himself a goal and stunning assist and, despite his body language being off, Alexis Sanchez scored a superb goal to make sure we escaped with a point.

Petr Cech – 5

The goalkeeper made a couple of important saves early on, despite conceding the first goal, and showed confidence to run out of his area and clear the ball when Aguero got the better of Kos later on.

For the second goal, Cech got caught at his near post by Kevin de Bruyne and should have really done better. Although he’ll know that.

Hector Bellerin – 5.5

The right-back was allowed to really use his speed down the flanks. In fact, in the first half, he was our top dribbler. However, without anyone there to support him, he was just running towards nowhere a lot of the time.

Gabriel – 5

Unsurprisingly perhaps, the Brazilian was mostly anonymous. Especially when it mattered – case in point, City’s second goal. His tackle on Kevin de Bruyne in the second half to concede a free-kick and pick up a yellow card was ridiculous.

Laurent Koscielny – 5

Despite usually being solid, Kos didn’t even move for Aguero’s goal. Later in the first half, he could have done better, once again against Aguero.

For the second goal, once again, everyone backed away, allowing Kevin de Bruyne to score along the ground at Cech’s near post.

Nacho Monreal – 5.5

Nacho was probably one of the better of our back four on the day, which doesn’t say a lot.

Mohamed Elneny – 5.5

The midfielder needs to toughen up a bit and not back off as much when the opposition are in dangerous areas.

Aaron Ramsey – 5.5

Despite slipping over a lot and coming under quite a bit of criticism for giving the ball away, some necessary, some not, he still completed the most passes and tackles in the first half.

In the second half, Ramsey put in a stunning pass. You’ll know which one I’m talking about because it was one of the only highlights of the whole match.

Alexis Sanchez – 6.5

The forward wasn’t bad but there was definitely something off. Could there be trouble between him and Arsene Wenger? Is he leaving in the summer? Hopefully not.

Saying this, the Chilean scored a stunner of a goal to level the score once again.

Alex Iwobi – 5

After a promising couple of games for us, the youngster has cooled down a bit. This is natural though and nothing to worry about. The talent is still there, he just has to learn to hone it.

Olivier Giroud – 6.5

The big man scored his first goal since January, getting up above everyone to header the ball home and put us on level terms minutes after Aguero scored for City. His assist for Alexis’ goal was absolutely sublime.

Danny Welbeck – N/A

The striker had to limp off half way through the first half with an injury.

SUBS

Jack Wilshere – 5

The midfielder is only recently back from injury after being out for the whole season so it was unlikely that he’d make an impact either way on the game. Sure enough, he was sliding into challenges that he had no business going into, making us all wince.

Theo Walcott – 5

The forward actually didn’t do too badly, he got in behind Clichy and put in a decent cross. He then had a decent chance one-on-one against Joe Hart but couldn’t get the right touch.

Francis Coquelin – N/A
