Mesut Özil missed out on German’s 3-1 loss to Slovakia on Sunday.

Although it doesn’t seem that the playmaker is injured, he was left out of the friendly match, which his national team embarrassingly lost to Slovakia. As the match wasn’t important, Germany boss, Joachim Löw, was likely just resting the 27-year-old, who provided 19 assists for the Gunners last season.

Özil is a huge part of the Germany national squad and the manager will need him 100% fit for the Euros in June. However, the poor result was no doubt a repercussion of his exclusion.
