Mesut Ozil has confirmed that he’s happy at Arsenal and not going anywhere just yet.

The playmaker has been linked with a move away from north London after our season didn’t exactly live up to expectations. One of the rumours was that he was looking to move back to Real Madrid but although the German international admitted that he does idolise Zinedine Zidane, he’s not sure he will ever play under him.

“I get along very well with him, both as an individual and as a manager,” he said.

“But in football you do not know what tomorrow will bring, everything is possible. You never know what will happen.”

Fortunately for Gooners, Ozil also confirmed that he’s happy at Arsenal and insinuated that he won’t be leaving anytime soon, which will come as a relief to many.

“I am under contract with Arsenal and I am very happy to be here now,” Ozil added.

“I do not think about the future, I just think my current situation. I have goals for Arsenal. In the future you can never know in football.”

Arsene Wenger has made it known that we’ll be trying to get both Mesut and Alexis Sanchez tied down to new contracts over the summer. To do that, no matter how happy they are, we need to convince them that Arsenal is a club worth sticking around for. Hopefully, we can manage that.
