Arsenal are reportedly set to battle Manchester United for Odion Ighalo’s signature this summer.

The Gunners have already been linked with the striker, who is apparently being viewed as a solution to our goal-scoring problems, and now the Red Devils are being rumoured to be after the 26-year-old.

Nicola Salerno, Watford’s sports consultant, has made it clear that the Hornets are willing to listen to offers and teams like Arsenal and United are likely to offer big bucks in return for the extra fire power. In fact, we’re supposedly willing to offer £20m.

Ighalo has been decent for Watford this season, having scored 15 goals and provided five assists in 34 Premier League appearances. This is more than our own Olivier Giroud who has only scored 12 and hasn’t found the back of the net since January. Although Danny Welbeck can ‘do a job’, he’s not someone we should be pinning out title hopes on next season. We do need reinforcements and buying a prolific striker to put in front of Mesut Ozil is a good place to start.
