Alex Iwobi has been included in the Nigeria squad for their friendly against Mali that will take place in France on 27 May in the Stade Robert Diochon.

The Arsenal youngster will feature for a Nigeria side that is looking to secure only its second win of 2016 when they take on the international minnows.

The Super Eagles will go into the game without Victor Moses, who is one of a host of players missing out through injury. Moses was initially included in the squad but had to withdraw due to ‘fitness’ issues.

Watford’s Odion Ighalo, who has been linked with Arsenal this summer, has also been included in the squad and was the first player to arrive at their training camp on Tuesday night.

A few others are to arrive on Thursday with Ademola Olajire, spokesperson for the Nigerian Football Federation saying “South Africa -based goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi and Norway -based defender William Troost Ekong are expected on Thursday.

“But Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho and Turkey -based defender Kenneth Omeruo have been held back by visa hitch.”
