Mesut Ozil has been left out of the squad set to face Manchester City with a suspected hip problem.
When the lineups were announced, Arsenal Twitter instantly went into melt down. Not only was our German playmaker, who we’ve relied upon heavily this season, not in the starting XI, he wasn’t in the squad full-stop.
According to sports journalist, Isaac Moore, who claimed that Ozil wouldn’t be in the squad before it was officially announced, and John Cross from the Mirror, he’s out with a suspected hip problem.
Am told Ozil has a mild hip problem #afc

Ozil has slight hip injury. But incredibly attacking line up…

The news is a huge blow and it’s unclear whether we’ll see Mesut play again this season, considering we’ve only got one fixture left after City. It’s also irritating because if ever we needed his genius, it was against the Blues.
Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious and hopefully we can get through today with three points in order to keep the pressure on Spurs.
Fingers crossed, Gooners.
