Germany manager, Joachim Low, has urged Mario Gotze to think about moving clubs to help his career, as Arsenal and Liverpool continue to be heavily linked with the Bayern Munich man.

Making the switch from Borussia Dortmund to their Bundesliga rivals in 2013 (was it really three years ago?!), Gotze made only 14 league appearances under Pep Guardiola last season after a hamstring problem ruled him out from October to February.

Sounds almost perfect for Arsenal.

Liverpool are thought to be favourites for his signature should he leave Germany, with the Jurgen Klopp factor thought to be a draw, but Chelsea’s name has also been thrown into the ring which means that the money in play could increase significantly.

Speaking to Suddeutsche Zeitung, Low said “Generally I say sometimes a change can put more forces free – a new environment, new challenges, new stimuli.

“Look at the development of Toni Kroos. At Bayern he was great; in Madrid he has made a leap yet again.

“Gotze needs a coach who wants to have him in his team. But that is not a criticism of Bayern, certainly not to Pep Guardiola.”

Gotze has been included in Germany’s preliminary 27-man Euro squad despite his lack of playing time for Bayern Munich this season.
