Gedion Zelalem has thanked Rangers for his season-long loan deal in Scotland.

The club earned promotion back to the Scottish Premiership while the 19-year-old was there and, despite his small frame, the midfielder managed to feature 28 times and assist eight goals, as well as score a penalty in the Old Firm derby to get to the Scottish Cup final. All while keeping all his limbs.

Initially, Zelalem was only supposed to be spending six months in Scotland but after doing well and enjoying himself, we agreed he could stay until the season was over. Now it’s finished and the youngster is set to return to north London, but not before thanking the club he’s grown to love and admitting that he’s disappointed not to have lifted the Scottish Cup.
