Playing out a draw at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening, Spurs saw their title dreams disappear as Leicester City were confirmed as champions.

The draw took Spurs three points clear of north London rivals Arsenal with juts two games to go and that is now the focus of the players at White Hart Lane.

“Now it is just about finishing higher than Arsenal so it will be a good season,” Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen said after seeing the title slip away.

Spurs haven’t finished above Arsenal since 1995 and it’s been a source of constant humiliation; league title or not, their fans will be still desperate to finish in second.

“It means a lot for the fans and it means a lot for the club as well if that happens.

“We’re in a good position for that to happen.”

Spurs have a significantly better goal difference than Arsène Wenger’s men but are have tricky games against Southampton and Newcastle United coming up.

Ronald Koeman’s men are chasing a place in Europe after beating Manchester City 4-2 on Sunday and Newcastle will be battling to stay up on the final day of the season.

It will almost certainly take two Arsenal wins to have any chance of catching Mauricio Pochettino’s side. With Manchester City away coming up on Sunday that would be some end to the campaign.

The season will always be tainted with disappointment for Arsenal fans but finishing above Spurs would, just, be a small consolation.
