Arsenal are facing competition for Leicester’s N’Golo Kante from a number of clubs but PSG seem to be leading the way when it comes to being proactive about the whole thing.

Kante has a buyout clause in his current deal of £20m according to Le Parisien and although the Foxes have tried to renegotiate a new deal to up that clause they have not been successful.

According to the French publication, PSG are willing to offer bonuses to the player in addition to his salary, that would be broken down as follows:

  • €470,000 if they win Ligue 1
  • €250,000 if they reach the quarter finals of the Champions League
  • €40,000 for each domestic cup final win

The report also claims that Kante actually favours staying in the Premier League which is good news for Arsenal. What’s even better news is that their nearest rivals for his signature in England is said to be Chelsea,

How is that good news I hear you ask. I know, normally Chelsea’s involvement in any transfer makes things infinitely harder, but Kante is very clear – he wants Champions League football next season.

This could well be a transfer saga that drags on until the last week of the window.

It’s got that smell about it.
