Arsenal have received a welcome boost ahead of their match against Manchester City at the Etihad.

Spurs have lost their grip on second place in the Premier League after losing 2-1 at home to Southampton. A brace from Steven Davis meant that even Heung-Min Son’s first half goal didn’t count for anything and Spurs remain on 70 points.

With one fixture to play, the maximum our north London rivals can get is 73 points – the same as Arsenal. Now, all the Gunners need to do is beat City in order to keep their hopes of finishing second alive.

Although there’s no trophy for finishing second over third, it comes with bragging rights and the fact that Arsenal would have, yet again, prevented Spurs from finishing above them, despite the Lily Whites having one of the best seasons they’ve ever had.

If we lose to City, third place will be decided on the final day. Something Arsenal have got a bit too used to over recent seasons.
