Legend Lauren claims that Alexis Sanchez is good enough to have been in the 2003/04 Invincible team.
Speaking to Goal.com recently, the former defender praised the Chilean’s work rate, something that is one of Alexis’ unmistakable qualities. When asked who would make the unbeaten squad, who went 49 games without a loss, Lauren named the forward without hesitation.
“Straight away, I would say Alexis Sanchez,” he said.
“He’s the kind of player who gives 110% in every single game.
“I think to achieve targets and success you need players like that. I like this type of player. You need charismatic figures within the Arsenal squad and he’s one of them.”
This is what makes Alexis such an asset to the team. He’s not only a brilliant footballer who can inject pace, creativity and energy into the side, but he never stops running.
Obviously, he’s not without fault. His inability to just take a rest when he needs it and rebelling against anyone who says otherwise has resulted in more than one injury while being in north London. In addition, although he work rate going forward has been a constant throughout his career, tracking back is another issue, but one I’m sure he will get back to once he has a proper rest over the summer.
