Jack Wilshere has been ordered to remain indoors with the curtains drawn at all times lest he be seen outside when he is unable to play football.

The midfielder, who opted to spend the entire season on the bench when he let Gabriel break his ankle during pre-season training, was spotted outside a nightclub not long after England lost a meaningless friendly to the Dutch.

Hailed as the future of his country even though he is rarely able to walk on two legs, after his decision to leave home on his day off, the 24-year-old youngster found parts of the press insisting that he should no longer be allowed to have any sort of life in case people wonder if he really cares about kicking a football.

Wilshere, and Arsenal, have denied that the Englishman was involved in the altercation that took place outside a London nightclub, however his mere presence in the vicinity of the incident has seen his character once again questioned.

What sort of professional would allow himself to accidentally stumble upon trouble outside a venue where people are known to imbibe alcohol? These are the questions many are demanding answers to, especially in the Telegraph

“Why put yourself in a situation where you can even be accused of being drunk and involved in a “bust-up” before being “thrown out” of a nightclub in London’s West End?” asks Jason Burt.

“Whether those allegations are true – and Wilshere and Arsenal have vehemently denied them – why, Jack, have you exposed yourself, and those who have backed you, by getting involved in such a scenario? And why, above all, right now?”

He then adds “Wilshere was on a day off and did not break any club rules by socialising but what does Wenger make of the player being out at 2am or later when he is scheduled to make his return to playing when Arsenal under-21s face Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium this Friday? What does that say about his professionalism?

“Wilshere may not have drunk a drop of alcohol. He may have been a totally innocent party to whatever happened. He may have kept his patience and behaved exemplary. But what is he doing out at that time anyway, hiding behind the bins, being spoken to by the police, pulling a hood over his head?”

What indeed?

Despite denials from the club that Jack did anything wrong, it is claimed that Arsenal will ask Jack to explain his actions and that Wilshere’s continued insistence on acting like a 24-year-old with lots of money and time to spare, despite doing nothing wrong, is seen as the final straw for many at the club. Apparently.
