Not content with just being linked to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, West Ham are now reportedly interested in Theo Walcott.

It does feel like Theo’s time at Arsenal is coming to an end. The emergence of 19-year-old Alex Iwobi has held a light up to the 27-year-old’s shortcomings and lack of progress during his 10 years in north London and it does feel like time to say goodbye. Unless the forward can seriously turn things around and become a consistently better player, he no longer has a place in our squad.

West Ham are reportedly willing to offer £26m for the player. Although I do feel we could get a little more, purely because of his age, the fact that he’s Premier League ready and English. Do I think he’s actually worth more? Doubtful.

The move would be a good one of Theo. He wouldn’t have to move far – if at all – and Slaven Bilic is said to be open to him playing down the middle, which we all know the Englishman loves.

Is there any truth to the reports? Maybe. However, I do think we’ll be seeing Theo heading for the exit in the next season or two. Arsene Wenger has confirmed he’ll be seeing out the final year of his contract, which means he may stand by the forward for one more season, as he has done in the past. But we’ll see.
