Arsene Wenger has praised the mentality of the current Arsenal team and admitted that now, the League is our only target.

An emphatic 4-0 victory against Leicester at the Emirates proved to not only the world but ourselves what we’re capable of when we really click. There wasn’t a single weak link in the side we put out against the Hornets, with the likes of Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck gelling seamlessly.

However, we know all too well that it wasn’t like that a couple of months ago when we dropped valuable points to the likes of Chelsea and Swansea at home.

“We have only one target now,” Wenger said.

“We have come through difficult periods and the team who finishes top is the team who can continue to perform and get results even when the period is a bit more difficult.

“This team has a good mentality. I’ve had many teams in my life and this team is top quality. They have gone through a bad period but, when you play like that [against Watford], that shows that mentally they are pure.

“You have to find a team who clicks at the right moment. You have a whole lot of different reasons [for it happening], because your injured players come back like Welbeck and because of the emergence of players like Iwobi.”

This ‘bad period’ has probably cost us the League. However, with the boss set to see out the final year of his contract at Arsenal, we have one more chance. It’ll be tougher next season with the likes of Pep and Mourinho back in the League, but if we make a couple of signings it’s still possible.
