After a bleak run from January through to March, Arsenal have found a solid level of performance.

A win at West Ham on Sunday would be the Gunners’ third in a row in the league, something the team hasn’t managed since before Christmas, and Arsène Wenger believes confidence and balance are the crucial factors.

“Confidence gained by the quality of our games,” the boss gave as a reason for the upturn in form. “Our team play has improved in recent games and our game is based on mobility, speed and technique. We found a good balance recently in our games.”

Mohamed Elneny, Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck have all come into the starting 11 and looked very good, adding a better array of talents to the Arsenal side but most importantly providing more security in possession.

Headlines have gone to all three players, who have managed to capture headlines by scoring goals, adding fluidity to the side and looking after the ball excellently. They have even brought the best out of teammates like Alexis Sánchez, who had been struggling for form.

All three players started the wins against Everton and Watford and are set to keep their places on Saturday.

“I’m reluctant, always, to change what works,” Wenger admitted to the media, suggesting the same team will start a third consecutive game as Arsenal chase a third consecutive win.
