The Telegraph are today claiming that Gedion Zelalem will be the next youngster to be handed his chance at the Emirates next season.

This might come as something of a surprise to many Rangers’ fans who have watched the youngster struggle for the second half of the season after impressing for parts of the first.

Speaking at the start of March, Callum Hamilton, the managing editor of Got the Battle Fever On, a Rangers blog, sat down with Stars and Stripes FC to discuss our talented American.

He was asked to explain why Gedion had seen his minutes at the club dwindle as the season wore on.

“Unfortunately, there’s not really any other reason than that he hasn’t been good enough to get in the team (although a knock has kept him out of contention for a couple of games, but he hasn’t been missed),” Hamilton said.

“The thing to bear in mind with Zelalem is, he really couldn’t have had things go much better in terms of gifting him an opportunity.

“They [Rangers] play a very, very similar style to Arsenal. They score a lot of goals.

“It’s been pretty much set up for him to nail down a place, and unfortunately his performances haven’t been able to match that opportunity.”

Having read that, it came as a surprise to see the Telegraph stating that he would be the next youngster to be handed a chance next season at Arsenal.
