Santi Cazorla picked Robert Pires in his dream five-a-side team as he finds new ways to pass the time without playing football.

The Spaniard is good friends with the Arsenal legend off the pitch, so it’s hardly a surprise that he picked Le Bob, but Pires was also one of the finest attacking players we’ve ever had at the club so he’s surely there on merit as well.

The Frenchman made a total of 274 appearances for the Gunners during his time in north London and has remained close with the club since leaving for Villarreal in 2006.

It’s good to see Santi appreciating the talent from the past, even if it is a little biased.

Other than Bob, Santi, who is currently gradually returning to fitness in training after sustaining a knee injury earlier in the season, also picked Spanish goalkeeper, Iker Casillas; Barcelona midfielder, Andrés Iniesta; Zinedine Zidane; and Lionel Messi.

To be fair, not a bad bunch.

But could they do it on a wet, windy Wednesday night in Stoke? I mean, let’s face it, they probably could.

No doubt, like all of us here at Cannon Towers, you’ve missed Santi. Until his return, watch this video and remind yourself just what we’ve been missing:
