Arsenal can now count themselves out of the title running after drawing with West Ham.

West Ham got off to a rip-roaring start and had their first shot within a minute. However, just moments later the Hammers received their first booking when Andy Carroll hacked down Koscielny up at our end.

The high-intensity game was pretty evenly split during the opening exchanges, with Arsenal breaking at will and looking dangerous.

Although Arsenal gradually got more of a foothold in the game over their opponents, our fragility was highlighted when, in the 13th minute, another West Ham goal was ruled out for being offside. Despite the Hammers having a few decent chances, it was actually Arsenal who scored first in the 18th minute. A superb finish from Mesut Ozil and an Alex Iwobi assist.

The home team weren’t giving up though and continued to throw wave after wave of pressure at our goal. However, again, despite the possession and solid play from the Irons, it was us who then scored again. This time it was a superb team goal, which Alexis slotted home coolly.

As predicted, we couldn’t keep West Ham out for long and Andy Carroll put them back in the game with a header and then a deflected volley just before half-time. We went in at the break 2-2 after leading just minute earlier.

Arsenal started the second half with no urgency considering we needed to win and it took Carroll no time to complete his hat-trick, putting West Ham 3-2 ahead.

The Hammers then dominated the second half. Arsenal were disorganised and lethargic, unable to react to Carroll’s hat-trick initially. It was all a bit too familiar from an Arsenal team that get far too complacent once we’ve taken the lead and find it impossible to hold on.

We tried to shake things up a bit by bringing on a newly fit Ramsey and then Olivier Giroud. The attacking additions made a difference and Kos equalised minute later, with a superb assist from Welbeck.

The game then opened right up with both teams playing from end to end and looking both brittle and dangerous.

Unfortunately, Arsenal failed to re-take the lead and we can safely say we’re out of the title race. 3-3.
