Jack Wilshere was questioned under caution at a police station after the midfielder was called in to answer questions about the brawl that took place outside a London nightclub at the start of April.

Both Arsenal and the player insist that the 24-year-old was not involved in the altercation that allegedly took place after Wilshere’s party were asked to leave the Café de Paris nightclub for reportedly abusing staff members there. In the fracas, a man was punched as two groups clashed before police arrived.

But the police allegedly have photographs which were taken by onlookers that show Jack confronting a man during the incident while his girlfriend attempts to get other people to stop taking more pictures.

Of course, confronting someone is quite different to throwing a punch.

Speaking on Tuesday, the police confirmed that a 24-year-old had been called in for questioning under caution about the incident.

After finally making his return to the Arsenal first team at the weekend and hopeful of making the Euros with England, this is the last thing that the player and his managers need.

The Sun reported that Jack could be forced to miss the Euros if he is charged in relation to the incident due to bail restrictions which could be placed on him, but this is likely just a little added hyperbole to spice things up.

The interview took place on April 20th, with the Metropolitan Police telling the Mirror

“At 02:15 on Sunday, 3 April, police patrolling Coventry Street, W1, became aware of two groups of men involved in an altercation.

“Officers intervened and one man claimed he was assaulted. He did not require hospital treatment.

“A 24-year-old man was interviewed under caution on Wednesday, 20 April.”
