It may be too late for the title race but Arsenal fans will be delighted to see Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla was back in full training on Saturday morning.

The 31-year-old hasn’t played since November when he suffered a knee injury in the draw at Norwich City. His recovery was hindered by an Achilles issue but now, almost five months later, he is back in team training.

Cazorla was one of the first names on the teamsheet in the opening months of the Premier League campaign but Arsenal haven’t been able to find any balance in midfield since Christmas and a strong title challenge has faded away.

The Gunners also have Jack Wilshere close to a return and the pair will hope to play a number of times before the season ends to boost their chances of playing for their countries at Euro 2016 this summer.
