Mesut Ozil comes in for a crazy amount of criticism but with 18 assists in the league this season, the German playmaker has been directly involved in 43.6% of the club’s Premier League goals this season.

In addition to his assists, his goal against West Ham on Saturday was his sixth in the league and eighth overall in all competitions this season.

Taking just his league stats, Ozil averages a direct goal involvement time of 108.75 minutes but when you factor in his chances created stats, he’s scoring, helping others to score or setting others up to miss every 17.8 minutes.

Not bad for someone who is, apparently, not doing very much very often, eh?
