Mesut Ozil has revealed that his comments regarding Arsenal messing up the title were taken out of context but we have dropped stupid points.

In an exclusive interview with BT Sport, the playmaker claimed that he actually said the opposite and that the title was now completely out of our hands, which is true. However, he did admit that we’ve dropped stupid points because we’ve been too complacent against smaller teams.

“I think we did fight against the smaller teams but in the back of your mind you think, ‘oh this will just happen on its own because we have the quality’,” he said.

“This is how we lost some stupid points that have cost us a lot this season.”

The German went on to speak about the criticism that Arsenal don’t have any big characters and insisted that we don’t need them in the traditional sense because at Arsenal, everyone has a voice. This is why he’s happy there, he claims.

It’s good to hear he’s happy. I always enjoy Mesut’s interviews because he seems incredibly well-rounded and level-headed. People assume that just because he’s a genius on the pitch that he’s dull off it but he actually appears to be really intelligent and switched-on.
