Keylor Navas is just 133 minutes away from breaking Jens Lehman’s record for the most minutes without conceding a goal in the Champions League.

The former Arsenal shotstopper went 853 minutes in the 05/06 and 06/07 season without conceding during a run of 10 games.

It might, however, have come to an end earlier had he not been shown a red card in the 2006 Final in Paris. Despite his blunder in that game he was still named UEFA Goalkeeper of the Year for 2006 (an award he also won in 1997).

Missing most of that match may not have helped Arsenal win the trophy, but it certainly helped Jens’ record.

Real Madrid face Wolfsburg in the competition on Wednesday evening and should Navas make it through the match without letting in a goal, he would only need to keep a cleansheet for the first half of the second leg to take the German’s record.

It might not be quite as easy as some might imagine, however.

The first leg is in Germany and the Bundesliga side have a good home record in front of goal.

In the league, they have only failed to score at their own place once – and that was against Bayern Munich.

They are averaging 1.9 goals at the Volkswagen Arena this season.
