Now, I realise it’d be unfair not to bring up the copious amount of career-changing injuries they’ve both had. Neither player can seem to stay fit for more than a couple of months and when they do injure themselves, they’re out for almost an entire season. At this point in time though, I’m getting frustrated with using this as an excuse. One or both get injured and then we just have to ‘make do’ and plug the holes until they come back? What sort of squad depth is that?

As much as I hate to say it, Iwobi will get injured at some stage. It happens. But right now losing him would be more of a loss than losing one of our senior players and another who was pegged as the next big talent. That speaks volumes about the Ox and Theo’s development at Arsenal, and perhaps their future as well.

On top of this, Alexis does seem to be hitting his stride after a few months failing to gel with the team after his injury, which leaves little room for the likes of Theo and the Ox, especially with Joel Campbell showing he’s more than capable.

While I don’t see Wenger getting rid of either this summer unless he receives an offer he can’t refuse, I do see them leaving within the next couple of seasons unless they can turn things around drastically.
