Petr Cech believes Arsenal should have killed the game off and put it out of sight before Crystal Palace equalised.

Although the Gunners did dominate the match in terms of possession, we lacked where it really mattered. Chance after chance was either scuffed, mis-kicked or missed altogether and despite creating plenty, we only managed to score a single goal just before half time via Alexis.

Cech had very little to do all match but when he was called into action, he messed up and allowed a soft goal from Palace in the final minutes of the match. We couldn’t come back and it was all a case of same old, same old for Arsenal.

Speaking after the match, the goalkeeper revealed that he didn’t believe we should have gotten ourselves into that position in the first place.

“We should have seen the game off,” he said.

“This is two dropped points and they were very important. We were talking about the situation and that if the teams ahead slip, we need to get three points and unfortunately we didn’t get all three points, which is disappointing.”

It’s true, we should have put the result to bed before the Eagles equalised. This is a team we should have beaten. I can’t wait for this season to be over.
