Arsenal legend Tony Adams is reportedly in talks with Danish club Brondby for the manager’s position.

One month after firing manager Thomas Franks, Brondby opened talks with Adams along with a number of other candidates for the vacant role.

The former Arsenal defender isn’t expected to get the job with Brondby hoping to appoint a more established head coach with a track record of bringing through young talents, something Adams doesn’t quite live up to.

After managerial spells with Wycombe Wanderers, Portsmouth, and Qabala in Azerbaijan, Adams had decided to leave the venture into football management. Since leaving his role as Qabala manager, Adams has been sporting director with the club, who are aware that other clubs are interested in his services.

It appears that he made Brondby’s radar after attending a game in Denmark.

Brondby are targeting a European place this season and are hoping to bring through a new generation of Danish talent, many of whom are rated highly and already starring for the country’s international youth sides.

It doesn’t look like Adams will get the job and, given his past, you have to wonder how much he really wants it. For us Arsenal fans it would be interesting to see more of our former managers go into management to see how they fare. For now, though, it seems we will have to wait and see whether or not Thierry Henry takes the plunge.
