Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s agent, Raiola, has confirmed that the midfielder is wanted by Juventus.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for both Mkhitaryan and his Dortmund teammate, Ilkay Gundogan. However, at the moment, it appears the only club really interested in Mkhitaryan is Serie A side, Juventus.
“I know that (Juve manager) Massimiliano Allegri likes him and Micky would be happy to play for Juve, but they will have to speak with Thomas Tuchel,” Raiola said.
“It’s true that his contract expires in 2017 but the Borussia Dortmund coach doesn’t want to sell him.
“The same thing applies to Ilkay Gundogan, which is why I don’t expect a deal to happen.”
As we’ve already said on Daily Cannon, both Mkhitaryan and Gundogen would make amazing additions to the current team and with the latter approaching the final year of his contract in Germany, it’s looking increasingly likely. Saying this, we’ll face stiff competition as not only are Juventus interested, but so are the likes of Manchester City and, I imagine, numerous other clubs.
In addition, we will have to fork out megabucks to bring the pair to north London with Gundogan alone said to be worth upwards of £23m. If we do bring one, I don’t see us bringing the other, although we can all dream I suppose.
