Yaya Sanogo has not returned to England quietly.

The French youngster had his loan spell at Ajax cut short after neither side seemed to like the other and promptly signed for the Addicks.

He’s scored three goals in four games and become something of a cult hero in the short time he’s been with them as this video will attest.

On Tuesday night, he got the fans talking for an entirely different reason.

Sanogo, 23, picked up a red card for an elbow off the ball.

The game finished 0-0 just a minute after Yaya’s red card.

He will now serve an automatic three-game suspension.

To make matters slightly worse, he was the cover star of the Charlton programme for the game.

If you want to know what might have went wrong, he did take advice from Francis Coquelin who also spent time at Charlton.

Good way to show you’ve been paying attention, in fairness.
