Arsene Wenger admitted that he’s worried about Arsenal’s title hopes after our 2-1 loss against Swansea at the Emirates but refused to talk about it more.

The boss isn’t known for his sunny disposition following a loss and Wednesday was no different. After we threw away a 1-0 lead and lost 2-1 on our turf to a team we beat 3-0 earlier in the season, Wenger was understandably tetchy.

“It is very difficult to say because everybody drops points,” he said.

“At the moment, I believe that we need to get back to positive results before we speak about the Championship which is at stake at the moment. It is very difficult as it is unpredictable. Manchester City lost, Tottenham lost. It is very difficult to predict what will happen in this league.

“Let’s focus on winning the next game and not talk about the title tonight. I’m not in the mood to do that tonight. It is a big disappointment for us to swallow this and we need to bounce back.”

To be fair, I don’t think there’s a lot the boss could have said that would have placated the furious fans, who booed at full time. If he’d admitted we’re out of the title race, which we pretty much are, people would say he only has himself and the team to blame, whereas if he’d said we’re still in it, people would call him a liar.

In this case, actions do really speak louder than words and the only way to instill some faith in the Gooner masses is to beat Spurs at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
