Arsene Wenger believes Mohamed Elneny, Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi have restored some balance in the Arsenal team.

The boss hailed all three players after our comfortable 2-0 victory against Everton in the Premier League. All of which played their part.

“I believe we have a game based on movement and mobility at a technical level with attacking football,” Wenger said.

“We have to balance that right and sometimes it is not always right. Let’s not forget that some players have been out for the whole season so players like Danny Welbeck are just coming back and has not played. Iwobi is just coming into the team. Mohamed Elneny [as well], we brought him in January and he has settled very quickly. They have given us a very good balance in the way we want to play football.

“In England, it is very hard to give a fair assessment of the performance because when you lose, you are disastrous. We have not been as bad as people as said, but I agree that you either win or lose in sport. Let’s go on and push forward until the end of the season.”

Elneny is a breath of fresh air in midfield. I actually saw a tweet during the game about how it’s amazing that we’re so impressed by a defensive midfielder actually doing his job but it’s true. The way he dictates play is encouraging and he’s showing the signs of quickly becoming a regular starter.

Welbeck ran Everton ragged and has been a revelation since returning from 10 months on the sidelines with a knee injury. If he carries on, it’s hard to see Giroud getting into the side. In addition, Iwobi has quickly pushed out Theo Walcott and rightfully so. The 19-year-old has been incredible. His goal against the Toffies was mature and composed – I can’t wait to see more from him.
