Arsene Wenger has hailed Alex Iwobi after his extraordinary performance against Everton in the Premier League.

The boss spoke after the match about the forward, who he’s put a lot of faith in, and described him as both intelligent and humble.

“I like him,” the manager revealed.

“He is an intelligent and humble boy. He has developed well.”

Iwobi is a prime example of how Wenger’s faith in our youth system and young players can result in wonderful things. The 19-year-old has been excellent so far since making regular appearances for the first team and his goal against the Toffies really put the cherry on top of what was another class performance.

It would be easy to get a big head considering the amount of praise the young forward is getting but he does appear to be taking it all in his stride.

His partnership with Danny Welbeck is particularly exciting and it does appear as if the team has been given a boost of fresh talent going into this crucial stage of the title race.
