Arsene Wenger could be about to open himself up even further to fan’s fury after claiming that Arsenal didn’t deserve to lose to Watford.

Arsenal have now been knocked out of the FA Cup, a trophy we’ve won for two years on the bounce and our only realistic chance of silverware. Another frankly bizarre display, complete with defensive blunders, skied shots and general humiliation. On the flip side, Watford were structured, patient, and took their chances.

However, instead of acknowledging how terrible we were and how well-organised the Hornets stacked up, Wenger claimed we didn’t actually deserve to lose.

“Our long run in the FA Cup comes to a sad end because I don’t think we deserved to lose,” he said.

“They took their chances.”

It’s becoming not just boring to read the boss’ post-match interviews after a loss, but agitating. It’s as if he can’t see something everyone else can, or he can and he’s too stubborn to admit it. Whatever it is, it’s concerning, and there’s only so many times we, as fans, can say something’s got to change without anything improving.
