England met Germany in Berlin on Saturday evening, each featuring an Arsenal player as the Three Lions came away with a 3-2 win.

Danny Welbeck and Mesut Özil both started for their respective sides, with the striker playing 70 minutes for England and Özil playing the entire game.

Germany started strongly but Welbeck helped England look dangerous in the first half, teeing up Dele Alli well and nearly having his own chance to open the scoring before hesitating for too long and allowing Emre Can to steal the ball.

At the other end, Özil played well when linking up with Thomas Müller and a simple two-yard pass proved to assist Toni Kroos’ long-range opener. To call it an assist, though, is possibly a bit of a stretch.

As the game went on, Welbeck continued to look dangerous and almost had an assist for Jordan Henderson.

Germany doubled their lead and England pulled one back before Welbeck made way for Jamie Vardy, who scored an equaliser before Eric Dier’s late winner.

Next up are games on Tuesday, when England face the Netherlands and Germany face Italy. Having featured so heavily in Berlin, let’s hope Roy Hodgson and Joachim Löw are more relaxed in their use of the Arsenal stars in midweek.

Theo Walcott, who was an unused sub, could yet get a run out in the game at Wembley.
