Watford striker, Troy Deeney, has insisted that the Hornets are hungrier than ever going into their tie with Arsenal at the Emirates.

The match will mark the third time the London-based team have faced the Gunners this season after knocking them out of the FA Cup just weeks ago. Following this triumph, Deeney’s team lost to Stoke 2-1 at Vicarage Road and although the striker claimed that it was their worst performance this season, it’s left him and him teammates hungrier than ever.

“We were terrible in our last game against Stoke,” Deeney said.

“It was our worst game of the season and everyone wants to put that right now.

“The kind of results we’ve had sprinkled right through the season has left us hungry to do more.

“Everyone who has worked so hard to get to this point now has a responsibility to carry this on and see how far we get.

“I’ve had a few people suggest to me that the league season is just about over us.

“I can’t get my head round that as we are group that demand the best out of each other every day.

“It’s a bit of an insult to think we’re going to crack things down a gear or two.

“If anything, I think things are going to go the other way now.”

Arsenal are coming off the back of a comfortable 2-0 win against Everton just before the international break and, in theory, should be ready to do whatever we can to get the three points. The League looks to be out of their hands entirely. However, the top four is still incredibly close and if the Gunners were to miss out on a Champions League spot, it would almost certainly spell disaster for Arsene Wenger.
