Arsène Wenger faced the press on Friday morning and confirmed that Petr Čech will be out of action for 3-4 weeks.

It means David Ospina will play in this weekend’s north London derby, and the Colombian won’t even have a first choice defence ahead of him with Laurent Koscielny ruled out of the match at White Hart Lane.

Wenger confirmed that Čech had a groin issue before Wednesday’s defeat to Swansea City and speculated that overcompensating may have caused the issue with his calf, which he appeared to pull running back from a late corner.

In defence, Laurent Koscielny is out but should be back next week and could even play against Hull City on Tuesday. Jack Wilshere is still out for 3-4 weeks, meaning the Gunners will have persevere with the same dysfunctional midfield unless the manager has a change of heart and trusts Mohamed Elneny or Calum Chambers.

No Čech, no Koscielny, still no Wilshere nor Cazorla. No wins in our last four. This may not be an enjoyable trip down Seven Sisters Road.
