Speaking to the media about his team selection for Sunday, Arsène Wenger has confirmed that the squad should be strong.

There were three players injured on Tuesday afternoon against Hull City, but Per Mertesacker and Gabriel should be available on Sunday afternoon. Aaron Ramsey is out with a thigh injury, but the Arsenal defence should be ok.

“We lost Ramsey,” said the boss.

Gabriel hasn’t yet trained with the side, but Wenger has said he expects him to train tomorrow and make Sunday’s game.

“I don’t think he lost too much fitness, we’ll see.”

Laurent Koscielny is still out, but Francis Coquelin “is of course coming back from suspension” and Héctor Bellerín “is available” after missing Tuesday’s match.

Arsenal have a stronger wide than expected available, but the midfield looks particularly thin thanks to Ramsey’s setback. It provides a huge chance for Mohamed Elneny, and we can only hope he continues to impress.

Should Gabriel or Koscielny play in the FA Cup quarter-final we can only trust that they are fit, rather than believe the manager is taking more risks with players as the squad starts to look thin.
