A ridiculous rumour has emerged that if Arsene Wenger stays at Arsenal, Mesut Ozil wants to return to Real Madrid in the summer.

According to reports, the playmaker is so unhappy with the Gunners’ season that he wants to return to his former team in the hope of winning silverware.

Although rumours that the German may be looking for a move are sounding slightly less silly considering how our season has panned out, I don’t see him wanting to return to Madrid.

If we do expect Ozil to remain in north London for the foreseeable future, we’re going to have to do some convincing. He came to win trophies and although we’ve won the FA Cup two seasons in a row, he’s probably going to need more if he’s going to stay. He’s a man in demand and our most important player this season; if he leaves, who knows where it could leave us?
