Aaron Ramsey is the latest voice to come out of Arsenal hailing their spirit after drawing at Tottenham.

You’d almost wonder if they prepare the same three statements for every game and just change the name of the opposition.

Anyway, Ramsey, who got back on the score sheet with a quite beautiful finish to gave the Gunners the lead in the game, highlighted the importance of ‘getting a result’ after back-to-back defeats.

“It was important after back-to-back defeats to come here and try to get a result,” Ramsey told the press.

“I thought in the first half we did well, but they came out in the second half and got the two goals in quick succession. We were under the cosh a bit but we carried on and got the equaliser.”

The White Hart Lane opener was Rambo’s fifth league goal of the season (three assists) and hopefully signals a return to goalscoring ways for the Welshman.

It was his first league goal since the game against Liverpool on 13th January and only his second since he netted against Villa on 13th December.

His other league goals came against Sunderland and Watford.

Only one of his goals in the league has come at home this season, with two of his three assists also coming away from the Emirates.

Noticing his preference for away games, I looked at the rest of the competitions to see if the pattern held there.

Ramsey has one assist (no goals) in the Champions League. That came away to Olympiacos.

He has one goal in the FA Cup. It came against Sunderland at home.

So that’s six goals, four scored away from home and four assists, three of which were scored away.

Something in that? Perhaps. Perhaps not.
