Arsenal have confirmed that a possible FA Cup quarter-final against Watford will take place on Sunday 13th March.

That’s hardly helpful for the Gunners, who have to travel to Spain to face Barcelona on Wednesday 16th March before coming back to England for a 12:45 kick-off against Everton.

It hardly seems fair, but at least we’ll know by Tuesday. If we don’t beat Hull City in Tuesday’s replay, our fixture against West Bromwich Albion will take place on Saturday evening.

The news isn’t great for Arsenal fans, who don’t even know which day the team will be playing on this next weekend. It also isn’t handy for the club and the manager, who needs to pick his team with other fixtures in mind. Hopefully we do beat Hull City because it’ll mean another FA Cup success is on the cards, but on the other hand it makes a tough schedule even more gruelling.

It makes you wonder if there is any point playing a full strength side at the Nou Camp, with Barcelona already 2-0 up in the tie (with two away goals) and still on the longest unbeaten run in the history of their club.

Fans will be charged for an extra fixture on their season tickets for the quarter-final should we win our replay, but have the option to opt out by next Thursday if they so wish.
