Arsenal Ladies made an expected move and a very unexpected one on deadline with Asisat Oshoala coming in and Rachel Yankey going out on loan.

As previously reported here, the Nigerian forward obtained a work permit and therefore was cleared to sign for the Arsenal as the bid that triggered her release clause was accepted by Liverpool.

The 21-year-old is a top talent who shone on the world stage, winning the Golden Ball at the FIFA u20 WWC in 2014 and competing in the senior event the following year. She will bring a different profile to the team as she is a pacy forward while Pablos Sanchon is a goal poacher and Carter is back to goal  with power and strength player.

Going out is Rachel Yankey. The experienced winger has been sent on loan to Notts County Ladies in a very surprising move. You do wonder why the coaching staff decided to dispense with the experience that Yankey would bring on the pitch and particularly off the pitch.

Overall, the Arsenal squad is as follows for the first half of the FA WSL season:

21 players: two goalkeepers, one right-back, one left-back, four center-backs, two defensive midfields, two center midfields, three attacking midfields, one right winger, one left winger and four center forwards.

With the FA WSL regulations allowing 40 players registered for the season, Arsenal Ladies also have 17 reserves aka Development team players and three players out on loan (Humphrey, Yankey and Augustus)

Pedro Losa has a very strong squad at his disposal and all the ingredients for a successful 2016 campaign.
