Barcelona have, once again, been linked with a move for Mesut Ozil, this time by throwing a load of players at Arsenal.

The story, which began in the Spanish daily, AS, claimed that the Catalan side want to sign Ozil despite him allegedly having a clause in his Arsenal agreement that would see Real Madrid get first refusal should a bid from another Spanish club be accepted.

Barca, as we know, won’t be foiled by such things as contracts and legal requirements, oh no! They have a plan to get around this clause – by offering up three players.

The players that Arsenal would get in return for Ozil? Arda Turan, Munir and Sandro.

OK, then.

First up, Arsenal won’t sell Mesut Ozil, although I’m sure Arsene Wenger would consider it for Suarez, Neymar or Messi.

Then you have the players Barcelona are said to be offering.

Arda Turan? Really?

He only just signed for them five minutes ago. Well, he signed in the summer but then sat around for a load of months before he could play for them because of their transfer ban. I know, I still don’t know how they were able to buy players while they were banned either.

But does that sound like a player who thinks he will only get half a season in Barcelona?

It’s a nice story, but that’s all this is. It’s not even a very good one.

As brilliant as the football Barcelona play on the pitch is, sometimes I just wish they’d vanish from the face of the earth so we didn’t ever have to listen to this sort of nonsense again.

There’s enough chaos in Arsenalland without this balls stoking the fires.
