Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris is targeting the Premier League title but believes Arsenal, not just league leaders Leicester City, are still in the hunt.

Arsenal’s title hopes looked over a few weeks ago when the Gunners were trailing at White Hart Lane and down to 10 men but Lloris conceded an equaliser to Alexis Sánchez, allowing the Gunners to just cling on in the race for the Premier League.

“We can talk a bit about Arsenal as well,” Lloris told Sky Sports, even though the Gunners are six points behind Spurs and 11 behind Leicester. “They are behind us but have played one less game so I think the key is to be focused on ourselves, don’t think about the other teams.”

Well, stop talking about who’s in the title race if you’re that focused on yourself.

Winning the game in hand would bring Arsenal closer, but time is running out to close the gap.

Tottenham, meanwhile, could give Arsenal a boost with some tough games coming up. We have to beat Watford on Saturday afternoon to put even more pressure on their evening trip to Anfield.

“We have two tough games ahead with Liverpool away and Manchester United at home and maybe we will see a bit more after those games,

“In football anything is possible so we just need to play games and enjoy it with our fans.”

With ground to make up, we are just going to have to win games and hope it puts enough pressure on Spurs and Leicester to make them struggle a little. Both have looked formidable at times this season but have tough runs to come before the season is over, including Spurs’ next few games.

Arsenal are in the last chance saloon and our rivals are still wary of us.
