Harry Kane believes Tottenham had Arsenal where they wanted them but blew their chance on Saturday.

I’m not sure Tottenham had planned for Francis Coquelin to be so stupid. They certainly hadn’t planned on being one goal down and losing control of the game to Arsenal, but that is what happened.

Then Coquelin lost his mind and Arsenal almost lost the game.

Despite Jeremy Wilson saying on Sunday Supplement that Tottenham looked much fitter than Arsenal (which side grabbed the draw with only 10 men and were in control with 11?), Tottenham choked when handed a golden opportunity to get one over their more successful neighbours.

“We’re very disappointed,” said Kane to the Tottenham website. “We had them where we wanted them, 2-1 up, down to 10 men and we had to finish the game off.

“We needed to score the third or fourth and if we had, it would be a very different changing room right now. That’s football and we have to deal with it.”

Great insight there from Harry – if they’d won, the mood would be different.

“We’re leaving disappointed but look, we have to move on, we played well again and there is a long way to go, not just in the Premier League but we’ve another important game in the Europa League coming up this week.

“We’ll stay positive and keep doing what we’re doing.”

Please do, Harry, because what you’re doing now is dropping points in your games.
