Alex Iwobi was visibly chuffed after scoring his first Arsenal goal against Everton on Saturday and took the opportunity to hail his partnership with Danny Welbeck.

Throughout the match, the two forwards linked up time and time again, and both managed to score during the 2-0 victory.

Speaking after the match, Iwobi revealed how much he enjoys playing with Welbz, as the latter handed him his first Man of the Match award.

“It’s not bad, I enjoyed the moment,” he smiled.

“But I’m happy the team won. That’s the positive; that’s what we’re going to take into the next game.

“I’m enjoying training and playing with [Welbeck], he gives me confidence and is always helping me and giving me advice. I’m enjoying playing with him.”

At the age of just 19, Iwobi is hugely exciting to watch and it’s good to see his hard work in training is paying off on the pitch. He’s impressed for a while now but over the last few games especially, he’s been getting more and more time to show what he can produce. This faith that Wenger has in him resulted in not only a stunning performance against the Toffies but a well-worked goal as well.

Well done, Iwobi.
